A clearer starting point

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

Perhaps you want to start lifting weights but don’t know where to begin. Maybe you already train, but aren’t seeing the progress you hoped for. Or you’re trying to make exercise work around a busy job and family life.

If you live in Sale, Brooklands, Sale Moor or Ashton upon Mersey, I can help you find an approach that feels manageable—and gives your time in the gym a purpose.

01 / STRENGTH

Build strength

Learn the lifts, improve your technique and follow a programme that gives you a clear next step.

02 / FAT LOSS

Make sustainable changes

Combine structured training with realistic nutrition habits that fit your life, without relying on extreme diets.

03 / CONFIDENCE

Feel at home in the gym

Get comfortable with the equipment and understand what you’re doing, so you can train with more confidence.

Face-to-face coaching

One-to-one personal training.

Dedicated time to focus on you. Sessions take place at PureGym Altrincham, with exercises and a pace suited to your experience, goals and starting point.

Whether you’re learning your first squat or looking to progress your lifting, I’ll help you understand the movements and build from where you are now.

What we’ll focus on

  • A clear plan for what you want to achieve.
  • Exercise technique and choosing appropriate weights.
  • Progression that suits your ability and recovery.
  • A routine you can realistically keep up.
  • Support and accountability along the way.

What working with me is like

Straightforward coaching.
Progress you can build on.

We start with you

Your goals, training history and weekly routine help shape the plan. You don’t need to get fitter before asking for help.

You learn as you go

I explain the exercises and the thinking behind them, so you’re developing skills as well as completing workouts.

We keep it realistic

Training should work alongside the rest of your life. The aim is consistent progress, not a perfect week every week.

Sale to Altrincham

Closer than you might think.

My face-to-face sessions are at PureGym Altrincham, not a gym in Sale. There’s a direct Metrolink connection from Sale to Altrincham, with no tram change needed under normal service.

The gym is on Stamford New Road, opposite the bus station at Altrincham Interchange—just a short walk when you arrive.

Meet your coach

Hi, I’m Jon.

Portrait of JonPhoto space · portrait 4:5

I’m based in Sale and coach at PureGym Altrincham through Landin Health & Fitness. I enjoy helping people become stronger and feel more comfortable in the gym—especially when they’re unsure where to start.

As a parent, I understand that training has to fit around other commitments. My approach is to make things clear, practical and achievable, with a plan you can keep building on.

You don’t need to know all the gym terminology or arrive with a detailed goal. We can work out the starting point together.

A few useful answers

Personal training FAQs.

Do you train clients in Sale?

I work with people living in Sale and the surrounding areas. Face-to-face sessions take place at PureGym Altrincham, not at a Sale gym. Online coaching is also an option if you’d prefer to train independently.

Can I start if I’m completely new to the gym?

Yes. We can start with the basics, including using the equipment, learning movements and finding appropriate weights. You don’t need to be fit or experienced before you begin.

How much does personal training cost?

£40 for a one hour session. Message me on WhatsApp for package prices. Tell me your goals and how often you’d like to train, and I’ll explain the options so you can decide what fits your budget.

Do I need a PureGym membership?

Gym access is separate from personal training. Before arranging your first session, contact me so we can confirm the membership or access arrangements you’ll need for PureGym Altrincham.

Can you help with fat loss as well as strength?

Yes. We can build a training routine around your goals and discuss realistic nutrition habits to support fat loss. The aim is an approach you can maintain alongside everyday life.

What if I can’t travel to Altrincham regularly?

Ask about online coaching or programming. We can discuss your schedule, available equipment and the support you need to decide whether it’s a suitable option.

Your next step

Let’s make a plan that works for you.

Tell me what you’d like to achieve, what you’re finding difficult and when you’d like to train. We’ll take it from there.
